Arlo is a 1yr old cockapoo (but much more working cocker than poo), he is neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, flea and worm treated. He will be rehomed with 5 weeks free pet insurance.

Arlo was in a family home with a child from a tiny pup, unfortunately there was an incident where he was in the back of the car just about to go on an outing and the child put their head between the seats towards Arlo and Arlo snapped at his face causing some injury but a serious bite. This unfortunately led to his owners taking him to be put to sleep even though he had never put a foot wrong before. Luckily
for Arlo the lovely vet offered to have him signed over to them and reached out to us to see if we would help, we were full but couldn't let this lovely young dog die for one mistake.

We noted that he was a little stiff on one hind leg at times and a thorough exam by our vets found that he has a Grade 1 (low grade) luxating patella (knee joint). We dont know if jumping into the car that day had caused him some discomfort but it's a possibility, we will never know. As it's a low grade nothing needs to be done with it
except we have started him on a joint supplement for young active dogs to help support the joint long term going forward.

Arlo has been with us for several weeks under assessment and we have found him to be a super sweet, loving, happy, friendly boy. He is high energy as with all dogs of this mix and age and loves to run, he loves playing with his toys and fetching a ball and his favourite thing is a good old chew on a big Nyla bone during his rest time.

He is a tactile boy who loves a fuss and a cuddle and he does like to be with you, he will settle in the daytime for a couple of hours when left with the other dogs here but at night time he comes upstairs and sleeps on the bed as he didn't like being left downstairs at all. We don't mind though as he is a good boy and loves a good snuggle.  He will need a home with someone around a lot of the time but with people who are very fit and active and can provide him with the exercise and mental stimulation he needs. He can be strong on the lead when he first goes out so this will need some further work in his new home. He will need a nice secure garden to play in at home too.

Arlo has lived as an only dog in his previous home but he LOVES the other dogs here especially the young spaniel/poo types who he loves to play with, he can be rehomed as an only dog as long as he gets plenty of opportunity to socialise out with other dogs.  He is best not living with cats as he will bark and chase but sadly we just cannot home him with resident children under the age of 16yrs (visiting
children would be fine he actually loves kids).

Arlo has great recall, he is really well behaved in the home, non destructive, housetrained 95% of the time, travels well in the car, was good with the vet and has no issues around food with either people or other dogs. He can be a little possessive of his toys around other dogs but it's very easily managed.

Arlo is being fostered in Swadlincote, Derby's but can be rehomed further afield subject to homecheck and adoption donation of £300.
