Below are a list of the many of our animals we  have as permanent

members of the Wonky Pets Rescue Centre based at Swadlincote

Our Forever Animals

This album below is dedicated to those animals who have found a lifetime of sanctuary with the rescue. This could be for a variety of reasons, some have medical issues, others some behavioural problems brought on from past trauma and abuse, some are extremely elderly and just need a safe place to spend their retirement years.

Beautiful Great Dane Luna sadly suffering with wobblers. She has been an adored girl and her devastated owners had no choice but to give her up. We were so pleased to be able to help them all. Luna will very likely stay with us as a sanctuary girl or be homed within our existing dane homes.

Mickey is going to be staying with us as a permanent foster dog supported by the rescue. He has some fairly advanced dementia and to save upsetting him by another move he is safe and loved in his foster home.
Mickey was saved from being PTS by his owners after he became an inconvenience to them because he is elderly, deaf and a little bit wobbly on his feet. This lovely old man has come into a fantastic foster home of ours who specialises in providing excellent care for these little oldies, he will get everything he needs now to make sure he is kept comfortable and happy.

He has never bitten here but an attempt to rehome him didnt go well and we feel its in everyones interest including Henry's for him to stay where he feels safe.

Reggie and Ronnie the troublesome goats who really do live up to their names. They are the greediest of boys who mug me every day from the alpacas food but are also the sweetest boys when they want a fuss and to give you a kiss on the nose.

If you would like to sponsor the goats you can do so by setting up a regular donation either via PayPal to wonkypetsrescue@hotmail.co.uk or

Loui had been allowed to get away with some guarding behaviour as a pup and lacked having real boundaries and instead of tackling his issues when he first showed some concerns at 7 moths, his behaviour was allowed to escalate and he was mishandled in his original home. He is now safely with us as a Forever animal.

Honey is an 11yr old blue Shar Pei girl, she is spayed, microchipped, flea and worm treated and will be rehomed with 5 weeks free pet insurance.
We were asked to take Honey in from her owner due to a story about her moving and not being able to take her with them, sadly we were horrified when Honey was brought to us, she had the most horrific large growths on her, an awful large one on her back, two huge lumps hanging from her behind and lots of other smaller lumps on various parts of her body, none of this had been mentioned by her owner who when quizzed said her vets had said they were nothing and to leave them alone!
If you would like to sponsor Honey with a regular donation please do it via:

Pete the show jumping goat who came to us as an emergency after his brother escaped his original home and was killed on the road. This boy hops straight over stock proof fencing as if it isn’t there and he shares his time between the rescue and our land neighbours where he loves his 2 little pygmy got girlfriends.

Lucie is a 2yr old pure tabby girl who is spayed, microchipped, flea and worm treated and has had her first vaccination.  Lucie was straying and took up residence with a lady along with 3 other cats after she started putting food out for them, it was far from an ideal situation though with the cats living outside so we were asked if we could help by providing a rescue space to bring them in from the cold.  Lucie is a sweet little cat who is finding coming into rescue a bit scary and stressful but given time and some patience she will blossom into a lovely little girl, there is no malice in her she is just shy.  Lucie would be best being homed with another feline we feel as she gets on well with other cats, she is wary of dogs and would be best in a home with older children over 6yrs as little ones might be a bit too much for her. She will need a home away from any busy roads where she can go outside once settled. Lucie is being fostered nr Swadlincote, Derbys but can be rehomed further afield to the right home subject to homecheck and donation.
If you can offer this pretty youngster the forever home she needs please email us telling us all about your home offer and contact details to wonkypetsrescue@gmail.com

Pricilla is one of our resident pigs, she arrived with us at Christmas 2020 as an emaciated mite ridden 10 month old, rescued by some friends of ours from living in a garden. Sadly her little sibling had already passed away before the rescuers got to them but Pricilla has blossomed into a beautiful healthy happy fat little piggy Safe forever here

Olaf and Groot are two little pigmy boys who arrived in awful condition, underweight and with mites, after living in a small garden in the middle of Birmingham!
