Tuppance is a teeny chihuahua cross girl (3.5kg), she is around 8yrs old, spayed, microchipped, flea and worm treated and has had a 1st vaccination so far. She will be rehomed with 5 weeks free pet insurance.
What a journey this little girl has had! She found herself petrified in the pound after being picked up as a frightened little stray, as soon as she had served her stray time she moved into foster with us. Immediately on her arrival we knew she wasnt quite right but within 24hrs when she started to be sick we rushed her to our vets to discover she had Parvo, an awful disease that is often fatal especially in the old, young and tiny dogs.
After spending a week in intensive care with our vets receiving round the clock care, this little tough cookie was then allowed home but she still had to be quarantined away from other dogs for a further 2 weeks and was lucky to find a quiet dog free foster home. She is now back mixing with her little canine friends and is so pleased to be back in their company as she struggled a bit being on her own.
Tuppance is looking for a quieter home with another tiny neutered dog for company, another chi or similar size. She is a quiet, shy little girl but is very sweet natured and once she trusts you she will be a friend for life.
Tuppance has been a picky eater since her illness but with perseverance her foster mum now has her eating normal wet dog food, she does still enjoy some chicken and ham though too
She is housetrained and quiet in the house, she loves a snuggle on the sofa or to curl up in a bed with one of her tiny friends. She is in foster with cats and whilst there is no malice she will bark at them at times so any resident cats would need to be very dog savvy.
She travels ok in the car, walks well on the lead but would be scared in a busy or noisy environment so nice quiet country walks suit her.
She needs a home with someone around a lot of the time as she can get upset if left for too long. She needs a home with a fully secure garden to play in as she is not a dog who can be let off lead when out, she is just too nervous.
Any resident children would need to be older (12yrs plus) and quieter, younger visiting children would be fine as long as they are respectful of her.
Being fostered in Swadlincote, Derbys but can be rehomed further afield subject to homecheck and adoption donation of £250
