PLEASE READ THIS WRITE UP CAREFULLY AND ONLY APPLY IF YOU MEET ALL THE CRITERIA. YOU MUST HAVE ANOTHER YOUNG, PLAYFUL, NEUTERED DOG IN YOUR HOME WE WILL NOT CONSIDER HOMING HIM AS A SINGLE DOG FOR REASONS EXPLAINED AND YOU MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE OR THE COMMITMENT TO WORK LONG TERM WITH A VERY UNDER SOCIALISED DOG.

Fraggle is a 15 month old small cockapoo, he is castrated, microchipped, flea and worm treated and fully vaccinated. He weighs around 11kg. He has a clean bill of health and will be rehomed with 5 weeks free pet insurance.

Fraggle came to us after he was found tied to the gates of Battersea Dogs Home, he was a matted, stinking, terrified mess and was so scared he was unhandleable at that point.

He was quickly brought to safety by the warden as he wouldnt have fared well at Battersea and we were asked to help him here.  When we shaved his matted fur off he was covered in huge old injuries and scars from being attacked by another animal.

Fraggle has spent 7 months in our care, in one of our experienced foster homes who have been working with him over this time, he has come a long way but he will still need a lot of work and input in his new forever home but it's time for him to find his special person who can bring him on in a more 1-2-1, quieter, environment. It would be ideal if you had previous experience of these types of ex puppy farm dogs.

Fraggle is a funny, sweet boy with his canine friends, he relies on other dogs for confidence as that's all he has ever known so it's imperative that he has at least one other dog in his forever home, they will need to be neutered, young enough to play a lot with him and confident and well rounded enough to help him learn all about normal life.

Fraggle is now accepting of fuss from his fosterers, he is particularly drawn to the man of the house and will choose to go and sit by him which is lovely.  He has a lovely nature BUT anyone new will be scary for him and it will take him some time to get to know you and maybe even approach you initially so you need to understand that, be patient and be prepared to build on that trust. He bonds once he trusts you but if you want a dog that's going to immediately come running over to you, then that's not this boy.

Fraggle has lacked any sense of a normal life before coming here, he lives in the house here with the other dogs and has learnt about some household noises such as washing machines etc, he is now mostly housetrained but this may of course take a little step back initially in a new home so you should be prepared for that.

He is really enjoying having balls and toys to play with but it's all a bit of a novelty still, he will collect up all sorts of items and take them back to a den area and can then be protective of them (totally understandable given he has had nothing before coming to us!) and he is very much a pup still so he can be destructive with them so tough toys are best.

He does still have a safe smaller world here as he still isnt confident enough to go out for proper walks yet, he does now know how to walk on a lead and practices in the garden and just outside the house but this is going to be a slower process to build up his confidence. In the meantime he needs a home with a nice sized, secure garden that he can play in with his new canine pal.

Fraggle is scared, but a good boy at the vets and the groomers, he travels in the car in a safe crate or on a seatbelt harness. He sleeps downstairs quietly at night with the other dogs and has no separation anxiety.

He will need a home where he won't be left for too long in the day, he can live with very dog savvy children aged 10yrs and over.

Fraggle is being fostered in Swadlincote, South Derbys but can be rehomed further afield subject to homecheck and adoption donation of £300
