Herbie.gif

Herbie is a 3yr old Pomeranian boy, he is castrated, microchipped, vaccinated, flea and worm treated and has a clean bill of health from our vets.

Herbie came to us after his owner could no longer care for him, he has always lived with several other dogs and is in foster with multiple small dogs but he can struggle at times with some of them so a quieter home will be best with maybe just one other small dog.

Herbie is a very typical Pom, what he lacks in stature he makes up for in attitude and noise, like a lot of this breed he can be vocal when he gets excited, wants to play and of course if he hears so much a twig snapping outside

Herbie has struggled the longer he has been in foster, we believe noisy fireworks may have sparked some anxiety which then escalated when we tried to introduce him to a new home situation and he really didn't cope well. He can be scared and reactive when new people first arrive and it takes him time to get to know people and accept them so we are seeking a
VERY EXPERIENCED POM HOME WHO ARE REASONABLY LOCAL TO US WHERE WE/YOU CAN VISIT HIM MULTIPLE TIMES TO BUILD A BOND.

He is a playful boy and loves his toys and to play tug with a blanket with his friends. He enjoys a treat and eats well. He does like his own space which he can be protective of at times.

Herbie was really good at the groomers recently and his coat looks amazing but he isnt so keen at home being brushed around his back end. He wasn't great being manhandled at the vets for his health check recently but it's all fear based snapping so this is something that will need further work and desensitisation working on positive experiences.

Herbie absolutely cannot live with cats or small furries unfortunately and he would need a home with no children or regularly visiting children.

His recall in the garden is really good but we haven't let him off lead on a walk, he travels well in the car, sleeps quietly at night downstairs with the other dogs and is ok being left for a few hours with a canine pal for company. He really enjoys his food and is eating well, he has shown no issues around food or toys. He will need a home with someone who is fit and active enough to provide decent length walks as he is still only a young dog and he will need a nice secure garden to play in too.

Herbie is being fostered in Swadlincote, Derby's but can be rehomed further afield subject to home check and adoption donation of £150
