Hiccup is a mastiff x staffie, he is a mature boy of around 10yrs old, he is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated and has also had a dental in our care needing 4 teeth removing. He will be rehomed with 5 weeks free pet insurance and a free rehoming pack.

Hiccup came into our care as a welfare case brought in by the dog warden, he had been removed from a home where he has been badly neglected and starved for a considerable amount of time.

He arrived an extremely poorly boy, so emaciated he was barely able to stand, his muscle had been eaten away as his body tried to survive and on top of this he had an infection that made him unwilling to eat anything but warm roast chicken for the first couple of weeks. This boy had the determination in him to fight and to survive bless him and with lots of TLC he is really blossoming. He has gained lots of much needed weight and is still filling out and now has a healthy appetite eating regular good quality dog food (with a few tasty treats thrown in).

Hiccup is lucky enough to be in a fab foster home where he is treated as one of the family, he has settled in absolutely great and is a really good boy in the home, he is clean, non destructive, loves a cuddle on the sofa or the bed and is generally an all round loving boy who will make a great addition to the right family home.

Hiccup absolutely adores children, he was living with small children in his previous home and is in foster with kids too, we are happy to consider homes with dog savvy and respectful children aged 5yrs and over.

Sadly Hiccup isn’t good with other dogs at all and will not tolerate them in his space at all, he needs to be kept on the lead on walks as he will pull to get to another dog so needs a strong confident handler. He hasn’t ever lived with cats or small furies so needs to be the only pet in the home.

He travels ok in the car and is fine being left for a few hours during the day.

Being fostered in South Birmingham but can be rehomed further afield subject to homecheck and donation.

If you can offer this boy the loving forever home he deserves after all he has been through please email us telling us all about your home offer and contact details to wonkypetsrescue@gmail.com
