Jess is a 5yr old Border Collie, she is spayed, microchipped, flea and worm treated and will be rehomed with 5 weeks free pet insurance.

Jess came to us all the way from Scotland after she was rescued from a hoarding situation. Her rescuer needed some help with her and no one else would step in so we offered her a lifeline. She eventually found a new home but had sadly been returned so is once again looking for her committed LIFETIME home, this poor girl has already been through enough to have someone else give up on her.

Jess is deaf (she may have a tiny bit of hearing with some high pitches but cant hear you speak to her), she hasn't had the best start to life and has had a rough ride so is understandably nervous of people she doesn't know and is reactive so if approached too quickly she will try and bite. She needs to take some time of people ignoring her and letting her approach them and then she once she realises she isn't going to come to any harm she will be your friend. She very quickly bonded with us here and she now enjoys lots of loves as you can see in the photo but this strong bond with her fosterer.

Jess is fine with other dogs and will actually need at least one other steady, placid neutered dog in her forever home, not only to help with her confidence but also to assist her with her recall being deaf. She responds to a hand signals and we are happy to advise people about living with a deaf dog but it really isn't much different to a hearing dog, especially a bright, intelligent, eager to learn dog like Jess who will be easy to form a strong bond and eye contact with which is the key.

Jess is tolerant of dog savvy cats who dont run so could potentially share her home with dog savvy felines, she hasn't been at all comfortable around small children in her previous home though so we cannot consider homes with children or where there are any regularly visiting children.

Jess is an active and lively girl who will need a home who can provide her with lots of exercise and stimulation. She will need a more rural type home as she wouldn't cope will with lots of traffic and people in a busy town/city environment.

She will need a home with a nice large secure garden where she can play fetch with her toys and have fun running around with another canine pal.

Jess is ok being left for a few hours with another dog for company, she walks well on the lead and has been clean in the home. She is muzzle trained.

Jess is being fostered in South Birmingham but can be rehomed further afield subject to homecheck and donation.

If you can offer this pretty girl the dedicated, experienced and committed home that she so deserves then please email us telling us all about your home offer and contact details to
