Kilo is a 5yr old black female shar pei, she is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated and will be rehomed with 5 weeks free pet insurance.

Kilo came to us from the pound after she was found as a stray so we have absolutely no history on this girls background. She was fearful on arrival with us as so many of the stray shar pei we take are and it took her a while to trust us but now she has settled in and gained some confidence she is doing so much better.

Kilo is a very typical pei with strong breed traits who is stand offish with new people and can react if approached too quickly so she will need a shar pei experinced home who are used to their behaviours. Once she knows you she is a loving girl who loves to play and have a fuss.

Kilo is generally great with other dogs out and about on walks and in the home, she can share her home with another neutered male dog or can be considered as the only dog in the home. Her biggest issue is around food, she is highly protective around her food bowl and needs feeding away from any other dogs and should not be touched whilst eating. We are working on her food aggression and she is now comfortable with us standing next to her whilst she is eating but this is something that will need continued work in the home (we are of course happy to talk through techniques with potential adopters and provide support).

Kilo is housetrained, travels ok in the car, she can be a bit apprehensive on the lead the lead but she absolutely loves her long walks once she gets out and about and will need a home who can give her plenty of exercise.

Kilo isnt suitable to be homed with young children but we can consider home with pei savvy teenagers who can respect her space, she is a bit too keen on cats to live with felines.

Kilo is being fostered in South Birmingham but can be rehomed further afield subject to homecheck and donation.
