Koda.gif

Koda is an 18 month old Shih Tzu male, he is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, flea and worm treated and has a clean bill of health from our vets. He will be rehomed with 5 weeks free pet insurance.

Koda was handed into us after being purchased online, the new owner found him too needy and didnt have the time to commit to him so asked for our help.

Koda is a great little lad, he has a friendly nature but is a little wary of new people he meets and will bark for the first couple of minutes. Ignore him, no eye contact or verbal cues and he soon stops and comes over to say hello, it will improve with time with introductions done the correct way and allowing him to build his confidence. There is no malice in this little chap.

Koda is very much a people dog, where ever you are, he wants to be so forget ever going to the toilet on your own or not having him in the bedroom with you at night (although he will sleep on his own bed on the floor). Koda can jump a stair gate to get to you and if he is shut away will bark until he has you back so to take this boy on you must be prepared to have a little shadow.

That said Koda is ok being left for a few hours when you leave the house, no fuss should be made and he will settle. He doesnt like having doors shut on him but is fine to be left with access to the house as he is not destructive and is completely housetrained.

Koda is great with other dogs and we want him to have another small , neutered canine pal in his new home, he isnt great with cats and will bark and bark at them. He could live with dog savvy children age 8yrs and over.

Koda walks well on the lead, he isnt particularly keen on travelling in the car but probably more so that he isnt used to it. He eats really well and likes his wet and dry food. He will need a home with a nice secure garden to run around in.

Koda is being fostered in Swadlincote, Derbys but could be rehomed further afield to the right home subject to homecheck and donation of £250.
