Missy is a 15 years young Shih tzu girl, we have run full bloods which
have all come back normal and she has had a full dental with us but
only needed two teeth out, she is otherwise pretty fit, lively and
active given her age. We havent vaccinated on the advice of the vet
given her senior years and we are told she wasn't spayed but doesnt
have seasons, we weren't going to put her through opening her up to
find out as that just wouldnt be fair on her.
Missy does a couple of age related lumps and bumps which are to be
expected but they have been thoroughly checked by the vet. One is a
harmless cyst behind her head on her left side but doesn't need it
removing and it doesn't bother her, the other is a small fatty lump on
her chest but again it's harmless.
Missy came to us after her elderly owner could no longer care for her,
she did live with another shih tzu until recently before he passed
away. She had been clipped short before coming into rescue but is well
behaved with the groomer.
Missy was quite depressed initially after coming into rescue, likely
missing her owner and familiar surroundings but she soon settled in
and she is a very sweet little girl and is now very happy! She mixes
well with the other dogs in foster but her recent rehoming failed
after she didn't get on with an elderly disabled dog and so it's
probably best she finds a home as the only dog this time, we can't
have this little girl moved around again.
She eats well alongside the other small dogs in foster, there is no
food aggression and she loves getting treats!
She can initially be a little worried in the car but she soon settles
down quietly. She loves going for little walks and likes cuddling up
with you but she will also take herself into one of the dog beds for a
bit. She would make an ideal companion for a retired person seeking
company.
She sleeps soundly & cleanly downstairs at night. She could be an only
dog with plenty of human company. She needs a home with a nice
secure garden to potter in and to lay in the sunshine. She would suit
a quieter home without young children and we dont know how she feels
about cats and no way of testing I'm afraid.
Being fostered in Hinstock, Shrops but can be rehomed further afield
to the right home but not hours away due to her not being too keen on
travelling. Home offers are subject to homecheck and a donation of
£100 given Missy's advancing years.
If you can offer this little sweetheart her committed retirement home please email us telling us all about your home offer in detail along with
