Annie is a 5yr old liver and white springer spaniel, she is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, flea and worm treated and will be rehomed with 5 weeks free pet insurance.
Annie came to us from the stray pound after being found dumped, she has been used and abused by breeders and then dumped after no doubt making thousands of pounds for them, she has had lots of litters! Poor Annie arrived with a very large mammary mass which was removed when she was spayed, her chest was x-rayed and her other mammaries all checked and we all clear. The mass came back as a mixture of benign cells with some cells potentially malignant however good margins had been taken and with no sign of any other spread we are confident it has been removed in time which is fantastic news for this lovely girl. Annie also had a dental with us so her mouth is now all nice and clean and healthy too.
Annie is such a sweetheart, she has obviously led a horrible life before coming here and is shy and submissive until she gets to know you but she loves a fuss and has the loveliest nature. She tends to take herself off into her own safe space here and although she is absolutely bombproof around dogs she doesn’t actively seek to play with them but enjoys being in their company and will share a bed etc with another dog. We think a home with a nice mature easy going resident neutered dog would be perfect for her. She hasn’t been bothered by cats or livestock here and could live with quieter children aged 6yrs and over.
Annie absolute LIVES for her tennis balls, she has nearly always got a ball in her mouth and would play fetch all day if she could, she is so easily pleased and such a good girl. She will need a home with a good sized secure garden to play ball in as well as an owner willing to keep throwing it
She hasn’t shown any issues around toys or food with either other dogs or people, she has great recall, walks ok on the lead (albeit a bit nervous) and was good at the vets. She travels ok in a secure crate in the car.
Annie will suit a more rural home she isn't used to a busy town center environment and noisy traffic etc would be too much for her. She has been clean in the house and non destructive and sleeps downstairs without a peep with the other dogs. She is ok being left for a few hours but obviously being a springer will need a home committed to providing a good deal of exercise and play.
Being fostered in Swadlincote, Derbys but can be rehomed further afield to the right home subject to homecheck and adoption donation of £250
