Polly is looking for a VERY SPECIFIC AND VERY EXPEIRENCED HOME. please do not waste our time or yours applying if you do not meet the criteria she is looking for. We do not have the time to reply to emails that do not even come close to meeting her homing criteria.
Polly is a 3 yr old female cockapoo, she is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated and will be rehomed with 5 weeks free pet insurance.
Polly arrived with us over 3 months ago, she was a shut down, matted, petrified wreck and had been found straying, we believe she had probably been in some kind of puppy farm environment. During her rehab time here she has blossomed into a happy, waggy tailed little dog BUT she is still terrified of touch and will not approach humans at all and will run away where ever she can. Being here in the rescue she doesnt get that 1-2-1 time that she needs to move forward to build that bond with her person so thats why we feel that although she has a long way to go, its the right time to start the search for her special someone.
Polly absolutely LOVES other dogs and she 100% needs another playful, confident neutered male dog in her new home, she can be bossy with other bitches so a male pal is best for her. Having a great role model is what helps her move forward.
Polly is still so fearful of people that she wont walk on a lead yet so this is something that a new owner must be able to work on over a period of time once you have bonded with her. With this in mind we are looking for a home with direct access to their own very secure land (or extremely large garden of at least an acre, a normal garden is not enough) because this girl loves to run. She is like a little rocket. She can easily clear a 4ft gate and will squeeze through the tiniest of gaps (she is only 10kg so small herself) so her new home needs to be 100% secure.
Despite being so scared of people, Polly seemed to take a real shine to my 8yr old grand daughter so we feel a home with quiet, calm and gentle dog savvy children in that age bracket would be great for her, she will probably form a bond with a child faster than an adult. She is ok with dog savvy cats who dont run and isnt bothered by our livestock here at all.
Polly loves her food and is housetrained. She is fine to be left for a few hours.
There is no malice in this girl at all, just pure fear from whatever humans have done to her in the past which is so so sad, we just need to find that special person who can continue to help Polly move forward to enjoy the rest of her life without fear.
Being fostered in Swadlincote, you will need to be able to travel to meet Polly initially in her "comfort" environment so more local the better during this current crisis. A homecheck and adoption donation of £195 applies.
If you feel you could be Polly's special someone AND you meet the strict criteria she is looking for please email us telling us all about your home offer and contact details to email@example.com
