Asher is a beautiful 1yr old dilute calico female, she has been flea and worm treated, microchipped, spayed, and has had her 1st vaccination. She can return to one of our vets in Swadlincote, Tamworth or Northampton for a FREE 2nd vaccination. She will also be rehomed with 5 weeks' free pet insurance and has a clean bill of health.
Asher had given birth to 4 kittens in a garden, a kind lady had been taking care of them but no local rescue could help her and she reached out to us. We were aware that Asher was probably early pregnant again and the kittens were reaching an age where they could start breeding again so we had to step in before the situation got out of control and they all settled in safely with us.
Asher has had a really tough start to life being left to stray and then having to live on her witts whilst raising her kittens, she is understandably nervous. She has settled into the cattery well considering and every day we are watching her blossom and her getting braver but she will still hiss and run from us. However when in the vets recently she really found a bond with one of the nurses who was enjoying a good fuss with her and her feeding could stroke her too, although she was incredibly shy. We feel with lots of time and patience she will learn to trust but it will take a special person to give her that time.
She will need a quiet, kind and patient home who understand that she will take some time to blossom and needs to be given the time and space to settle in before she is likely to accept any attention. There is no malice in her at all but it takes time to win her trust, she just needs to be given that chance.
Asher could be an only cat or can live with another young resident cat for company she has loved being able to pen share with other felines and its really helping her feel safe and secure.
She could happily live with quieter, respectful children age 8yrs but dogs are too scary.
Asher will need a home WELL AWAY FROM ANY BUSY OR FAST ROADS, with access to a safe garden where she can enjoy exploring once she has fully settled into her new home but bear in mind this could be several weeks/months away before she is ready. We will also consider homes with a large well equipped catio or a cat proofed garden would be purfect.
Being fostered in Swadlincote but she can be rehomed further afield subject to a successful home check and an adoption donation of £100.
