Meena and Murphy are 5yr old special need siblings seeking a home together. They are neutered and microchipped, flea and worm treated and have a clean bill of health. They will be rehomed with 5 weeks free pet insurance.
Murphy and Meena were born in our care to a stray mum 5yrs ago, they were born with a condition called Cerebella Hypoplasia which means that the cerebella in the base of the brain and which controls movement, didn't develop properly so it causes them to have some "wobblyness". They are mildly affected and can still get around perfectly well they just look a bit drunk at times when they loose their balance, they can run, play and climb onto a sofa or bed with ease. This is not a progressive condition and they will not get any worse with age, they cope amazingly well and are super cats.
After being in the same home since kittens a sad change in their owners circumstances meant she could no longer care for them so they came back to us to find a special new home. They are sweet natured loving cats who found it a little stressful leaving everything they new but after being given some time to settle they have now blossomed back into the loving cats that we know they are.
They have lived with other cats previously and small dogs but would equally be happy being just the two of them in a new home. They are gentle cats and can live with savvy children.
We were told that they used a litter tray in their previous home but they have only chosen to use puppy pads to toilet on with us so a new home will need to be prepared to perhaps have a designated puppy pad toilet area that can be set up for them, they were used to being able to go outside into a cat proofed courtyard so they would ideally suit a home with either a large catio or a fully size foot fenced secure garden as they would be unlikely to be able to climb out of that and it would solve toileting issues if they can go outside.
They are eating well with us and enjoying their wet food, some good quality dry and of course they love Dreamies.
Being fostered in Swadlincote, Derby's but can be rehomed further afield to the right experienced home. There is no fixed donation for this pair, we are more interested in finding a special home for this special pair.
