Mitzy is an 11yr old female terrier, she is spayed, microchipped, had a dental, a small benign mammary mass removed, been flea and worm treated and had a 1st vaccination so far. She will be rehomed with 5 weeks free pet insurance and had a clean bill of health, her blood work was all good.
Mitzy came to us after her owner was losing her home and moving to a flat so couldn't take her dogs, a family member took the other dog but sadly Mitzy had no where to go. She hadnt seen a vet for many years and the only vet history we had was regarding a very old injury to her tail where she sometimes chased it, our vets have checked it out and even xrayed it and confirmed its nothing to worry about. We have only seen Mitzy chase her tail a couple of times and she is easily distracted with a treat.
Mitzy is a lovely little dog, she is a typical terrier type so she does know her own mind and what she likes and doesn't like and she will let you know if she isn't, she really dislikes being picked up and isn't keen on being brushed either but day to day she is a nice little dog who is easy to live with.
Mitzy will suit a home with someone who is terrier savvy and respects their little ways, she will need a fit and active owner who can provide her with some good walks ideally in a nice rural area. Mitzy lives happily with numerous other small foster dogs and gets on well with them, she can happily share her home with another gentle friendly, neutered small breed dog or can be the only dog with plenty of human company. She can be vocal towards other dogs when out on the lead and will also bark at cats she doesn't know so a feline free home may be best to avoid any issues. She has lived with children in the past but now she is getting a little older we feel that resident children would need to be 12yrs and over, although younger visiting kids would be find.
She is clean in the house, travels ok in the car once settled (she isnt that keen) was ok with the vet and sleeps downstairs quietly at night. She will need a home with a nice safe enclosed garden to play in.
Being fostered in Swadlincote, S. Derbys but can be rehomed further afield subject to home check and adoption donation of £250
