Tiny is a 3yr old black male pug, he is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, flea and worm treated and will be rehomed with 5 weeks free pet insurance.

Tiny came to us from the stray pound, he was in terrible condition with a severe skin issues and lots of fur loss. We also quickly noted that he was weak on his legs, particularly his front leg which was quite "wonky". We initially concentrated on getting his skin more comfortable and he had antibiotics and steroids to relieve the discomfort, after several weeks of treatment and good, grain free food its so much better and his fur is beginning to grow back. He may always be left with some thin hair cover.

We conducted some xrays on his leg to surprisingly find that he had suffered from a broken elbow in the past, highly likely as a pup as the implant holding the fracture repair had actually moved with growth and failed and his elbow had continued to heal itself at a strange angle and almost fuse. This means that whilst he is in no discomfort with that leg, he has very very little movement in the joint and the weird shape has affected his carpus joint too. There is nothing surgically that can be done to correct this now, its far too old but he may benefit in the future from a carpel brace to support his leg and years in the future it obviously could become arthritic. We have already started him on Joint Supplements and Golden paste to help support the leg going forward.

Tiny is not your average pug he is super lively and energetic despite what he has been through, he LOVES his toys and chasing a ball and is a bundle of fun and energy.

He gets on well with other small dogs and can be considered to share a home with another similar canine pal or we will consider a home as the only dog as long as someone is around most of the time and he has plenty of company and opportunity for dog interaction. He is terrible with cats and definitely needs a cat free home but we are happy to consider homes with dog savvy gentle children aged 7yrs and over.

Tiny will need a home with a nice secure garden where he can play fetch, he enjoys his walks but cannot be walked huge distances due to his leg but a couple of 20 min walks a day to the park are perfect for him.

He sleeps down stairs quietly at night, is ok being left a few hours, loves his food, was great with the vet and travels ok in the car.

Being fostered in Swadlincote, Derbys subject to home check and adoption donation of £300
