Dot is a rough coated terrier around 18 months old, she is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, flea and worm treated and has a clean bill of health. She will be rehomed with 5 weeks free pet insurance.
Dot came to us from the stray pound so we have no history on her background but since being with us in foster we have found her to be an absolute delight and she will male a great addition to a terrier savvy home.
Dot is very much a typical terrier in so many ways, she is tenacious, lively, strong willed but very sweet and loving too. She has been great with the other small dogs in her foster home and loves to play, we suspect her background involves being around lots of other dogs and we are therefore seeking a home where there is at least one other young, playful, neutered resident canine companion for her to be friends with.
Dot possessed that naturally strong prey drive around cats and small furry animals so can absolutely not be rehomed with them, she also proved to be a bit of a jumper and escape artist on arrival so will need to have a VERY secure garden with a minimum of 6ft fencing with nothing to climb on.
She has a very sweet, loving nature and loves to jump onto your lap for a cuddle and a fuss, she does have a slightly timid side to her too where we think she may have possibly not been treated so kindly as some point in her life but gentle talk and a treat wins the day with her.
Dot loves playing with toys, especially a ball and will play fetch for as long as you can keep up with her :) She is an energetic, lively young dog and will need owners who are able and willing to provide her with the right level of exercise and mental stimulation to keep her happy, healthy and fit. She will need lengthy daily walks, we dont know what her recall is like but a long line would seem the best idea for her because if she saw a rabbit she would be off!
Dot has been generally good in the house, she is house trained, sleeps quietly downstairs with the other dogs at night, travels ok in the car, is fine being left for a few hours and was great with the vet. She is eating well and has no issues with food or toys around people or other dogs.
We are seeking a home with another young neutered resident dog to play with, no cats or small furries but she could live with sensible dog savvy children aged 6yrs and over.
Being fostered in Swadlincote, Derbys but can be rehomed further afield subject to home check and adoption donation of £300
