Safiya.gif

Safiya is a teeny smooth coated chihuahua (2.5kg), she is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated and she has a clean bill of health. She will be rehomed with 5 weeks free pet insurance.

Safiya came to us after her owners could no longer provide adequate and proper care for her.  We are seeking an experienced chihuahua home for her, one who is used to caring for these tiny pups with a little
bit of mexican spice mixed in.

Safiya really is as cute as a button and despite being fearful on arrival, she settled into her foster home really well and got used to living with several other small dogs. We would love her to have a
forever home with another small neutered chi as a companion as she really seems to enjoy their company.

She is very much a typical chi, living in a world of giants can be overwhelming at times but after a little introduction and knowing she is safe she is very happy and sociable around people.  She loves to be
covered over or to snuggle under a blanket but when asleep like this she needs to be left alone as she will snap if disturbed, its her comfort zone.  She will need to sleep upstairs in her new home and shares her fosterers bed with them.

She is happy to be picked up and loves a fuss, she is getting more confident on walks and walks well on her harness and lead. She travels ok in the car and was nervous but ok with the vet. Her housetraining
is a work in progress (she previously lived in a flat and used puppy pads!) but she is getting there now but new owners need to be prepared to continue the training and for accidents to happen.  We are seeking
a home with a nice secure garden.

Safiya is a grazer with her food, she will only eat wet food with us and needs someone to be near her when eating otherwise she will just wander off. She does enjoy treats though and will take them nicely.

Safiya is ok being left for short periods, especially with other dogs
for company but wouldn't want be left alone for a long working day,
she is great with dog friendly cats and would be ok with respectful visiting children but we aren't looking to rehome her where there are resident children under the age of 12yrs.

Being fostered in Swadlincote, Derby's but can be rehomed further afield to the right experienced home subject to home check and adoption donation of £300
