Harvey is a yorkie cross, he is 14yrs old, 6.8kg, neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated. He has also had a large dental with us needing multiple extractions, he had slightly elevated liver enzymes but otherwise his bloods were all good, we have
him on milk thistle to help. He will be rehomed with 5 weeks free pet insurance.
Harvey came to us after he found himself in kennels after his elderly owner sadly passed away and no one in the family could accommodate him. We didn't really have any information on him but he had clearly been used to living a quieter life with his former owner.
Harvey settled into his foster home with other dogs well and is generally fine around other dogs day to day, he will happily pass them
out and about without taking much notice. He doesn't like having other dogs near him around food though and will defend his food bowl and
treats. He may be best being back as the only dog in his new home.
Harvey is happy to have a pet and a little fuss but he doesn't like to be messed with too much and is sensitive particularly around his feet
and neck and will snap on occasion if its something he doesn't like so care needs to be taken and he will sadly NOT be suitable for an
elderly person who's reactions may be a little slower. Also for this reason he is not suitable to be rehomed with children or where there
are regularly visiting small children. We don't know how he feels about cats.
Harvey will need a home with a nice enclosed garden to potter around in and enjoys a daily walk still, he is still pretty active. He travels ok in the car and enjoys going out and about, he wasn't so keen on the vets and will tolerate the groomer but does get snappy around his face being groomed.
Harvey will make a good companion for someone who is just seeking canine company and someone to enjoy little walks for but who doesn't want a dog that wants lots of fuss or to be overhandled and is happy to just "be". He is otherwise an easy little dog in the home, he
isn't noisy or destructive, he sleeps downstairs at night and is fine being left fro a few hours in the day.
Being fostered in Swadlincote, Derby's but can be rehomed further afield subject to home check and adoption donation of £125
